Nicole Gauthier was born in Ontario, Canada and moved to a town just outside of Paris, France when she was six years old. She started tap dancing in France and then moved to York, PA when she was eleven years old. While living in York, she enrolled at Linda B’s School of Dance and broadened her interest in other dance genres. Nicole is trained in both the Vaganova and Cecchetti methods of ballet technique as well as Graham, Modern (including the Cunningham, Hawkins, and Limon methods), Umfundalai, and improvisation. While studying dance pedagogy and history at Temple University, she received the 2014 Dean’s Grant to produce, direct, choreograph, and perform in an original piece for Clark Park’s “Party in the Park” (Philadelphia, PA) entitled “Reactions through Spaces: An Interaction.” Nicole received her dance performance Bachelor of Fine Art degree from Temple University in December of 2014. She now lives in Monroeville, PA and enjoys teaching the hard-working, dedicated students of Dancers by Design.
